Music 2 is designed for children ages 6+ who are ready for more structured musical and vocal development.
An important part of the class is singing and learning songs. Students work on melody, rhythm, clear pronunciation, breathing and expressive performance while developing the ability to sing confidently both individually and as part of a group.
Children learn a varied repertoire of age-appropriate songs, including Russian-language music, and work toward increasingly polished performances. Through regular practice, they develop musical memory, learn to hear and reproduce melodies accurately, follow tempo and rhythm, and understand how voice and expression help communicate the character and meaning of a song.
The class also develops attentive listening and basic musical understanding, helping children become not only stronger singers, but more thoughtful and confident young performers.
Students learn through singing, vocal exercises, listening, rhythm work and rehearsal of complete songs.
Songs are learned step by step: children work with melody, lyrics, rhythm, pronunciation and expression, then bring these elements together in a complete musical performance.
Students practice singing together, listening to one another and following the teacher, while also developing greater independence and confidence in their own voices.
Performance is an important part of the learning process. Preparing songs for school concerts and special events gives children a meaningful goal and teaches them how regular practice, teamwork and musical expression come together on stage.
