ABOUT THE CLASS

This class challenges older students to become more analytical, flexible and independent mathematical thinkers.

As problems become more complex, students learn to identify relationships, organize information and break multi-step questions into logical stages. Visual modeling and reasoning help students understand the structure of a problem before moving into calculations.

The emphasis is on mathematical understanding, efficient strategy and the ability to explain why a solution works—not simply arriving at the correct answer.
