This class is taught in Russian using Russian-language mathematics materials. It is NOT part of the Singapore Math U.S. Edition program.
This early mathematics class introduces children to mathematical thinking in Russian in an age-appropriate and engaging way.
Children develop an understanding of numbers, quantities, comparison, patterns and shapes while learning to notice relationships and solve simple problems. The emphasis is not only on finding an answer, but also on helping children think, observe and explain what they notice.
Because instruction takes place in Russian, the class also gives children a natural opportunity to hear and use mathematical vocabulary in Russian.
Mathematical concepts are introduced gradually through age-appropriate questions, visual examples, reasoning and problem-solving activities.
Children are encouraged to notice, compare, predict and explain, building a foundation for future mathematical learning while using Russian naturally.
