ABOUT THE CLASS

This course is designed for children learning Russian as a second language who already have a beginning foundation and are ready to communicate with greater independence.

Students continue expanding their vocabulary while learning to understand longer phrases, construct more complete sentences and participate in increasingly natural conversations.

The class supports both comprehension and active speech. Children practice understanding questions and statements, responding appropriately, describing familiar topics and expressing their own thoughts with increasing clarity.

WHAT CHILDREN DEVELOP

  • Stronger listening comprehension
  • Broader active vocabulary
  • More complete Russian sentences
  • Conversational fluency at an age-appropriate level
  • Question-and-answer skills
  • Ability to describe and explain
  • Greater independence in spoken Russian
  • Confidence communicating without relying constantly on translation

HOW WE LEARN

Students learn Russian through meaningful themes, conversation, listening, questions, descriptions and interactive language activities.

New vocabulary and sentence patterns are introduced in context and revisited through communication, giving children repeated opportunities to understand and use them naturally.
